About Us
Our Story

We turn e-waste into devices that transform lives.

Geuza is a Swahili word meaning “transform”. It's an African company that engineers smart, affordable assistive technologies from electronic waste, expanding access for people living with disabilities, injuries, aging-related conditions, and chronic illnesses while reducing environmental harm.

The problem we solve

Two Growing Crises. One Untapped Opportunity.

Africa generates more than 2.9 million tonnes of electronic waste every year, while over half of those who need assistive technologies still lack access to them. Two challenges growing side by side — that's where GEUZA comes in.

Transforming E-Waste into Empowerment
Our founding idea
“What if the electronics discarded today could power the assistive technologies of tomorrow?”

GEUZA was born from a bold insight: the devices we throw away still contain valuable materials and untapped potential. Through circular engineering and advanced design, these resources can be transformed into high-quality assistive technologies at a fraction of the traditional cost.

That insight became a company. Today, GEUZA is building a new generation of smart, sustainable assistive technologies designed to expand access across Africa and beyond.

Our Journey So Far

From an idea into a manufacturing company

1
Testing raw recycled material

Step 1 — Material Research & Sourcing

Turning waste into engineering-grade materials

Our journey began with testing recovered electronic plastics and components to understand their strength, durability, and structural potential. Through materials research and testing, we confirmed that recycled e-waste meets the standards required for assistive device manufacturing.

2
First prototype

Step 2 — The First Prototype

Proof that circular engineering works

Our prototype was built from salvaged materials recovered from discarded electronics. Simple but functional, it demonstrated that recycled components could be engineered into reliable assistive devices capable of supporting real human use.

3
Production workshop

Step 3 — Product Development & Manufacturing

From prototype to real production

With successful prototypes, Geuza transitioned into structured product development and manufacturing. Our team refined designs, improved material processing, and prepared production of assistive devices that meet quality, durability, and usability standards.

4
Smart assistive technology

Step 4 — Smart Assistive Technology

Engineering the next generation of assistive solutions

Geuza began developing smart assistive devices, starting from smart crutches enhanced with connected technology, opening new possibilities for improved rehabilitation insights and future healthcare integration.

5
Partners and recognition

Step 5 — Trusted Partnerships & Recognition

Working with institutions shaping innovation and standards

Geuza collaborates with leading institutions and partners, including Carnegie Mellon University Africa (CMU), Rwanda Standards Board (RSB), Rwanda FDA, UNDP through the Timbuktoo HealthTech Program, the Government of Rwanda through Hanga Pitchfest, BPN Rwanda, Enviroserve Rwanda, and Unipod — strengthening our technology, standards, and scalable growth across Africa.

What drives us

Mission

To transform lives by designing smart, affordable assistive devices that combine sustainable recycled materials with advanced technology — making devices accessible, safe, and empowering for those who need it most.

Vision

An inclusive Africa where innovation, sustainability, and technology converge to transform lives — restoring independence through every breakthrough assistive device we design.
